Graduation Requirements
Students Entering Grade 9 in September 2023 or Earlier:鈥嬧
The requires the following to successfully obtain the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD):
- 18 compulsory credits
- 12 optional credits
- 40 hours of approved commu鈥媙ity involvement activities
- 鈥嬧婳ntario Secondary School Literacy test (OSSLT) written in Grade 10 or the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Course.鈥
- 2 eLearning courses successfully completed (opt out available).
For Students Entering Grade 9 in September 2024 or Later
The requires the following to successfully obtain the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD):.
- 17 compulsory credits
- 13 optional credits
- 40 hours of commu鈥媙ity involvement activities
- 鈥嬧婳ntario Secondary School Literacy test (OSSLT) written in Grade 10 or the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Course.鈥
- 2 eLearning courses successfully completed (opt out available)
- 鈥淣ote: Starting in September 2025, you must earn a new financial literacy graduation requirement as part of your compulsory Grade 10 mathematics course. You will need to achieve a mark of 70% or higher to pass this new requirement and earn your high school diploma鈥
